About Trailhead

Eoin Reilly at Ardnakinna Point on Bere IslandHi! My name is Eoin Reilly and I have been trading under the business name Trailhead since 2008. It was through my passion for landscape photography and love for the great outdoors that led me to forge a career path in what has now become Trailhead.

When planning my first Wicklow Way, I found it extremely difficult to find any information on the Internet on where to stay along the trail. This resulted in being burdened with a tent for the walk in order to be certain of having somewhere to stay each night. Having completed the walk and striking up a friendly relationship with one of the guest house owners, we set out to create the Wicklow Way website and comprehensively document all the logistics to walking the trail. The success of Wicklow Way website led on to me developing further websites on my own for the Dingle Way, the Kerry Way and the Causeway Coast Way.

Each of these websites have been put together without any public grant assistance in order to preserve the integrity of the content. Every trail website comes with a great personal expense and this has delayed the timely roll-out of further trail websites as I need to dedicate my time elsewhere to bring in my main income.

If you have used any of the above websites to plan your holiday and would like to use similar sites in the future then you can help support their development by purchasing your maps and guidebooks through this website. I can not compete on price with large scale international retailers on Amazon and eBay but what I can offer the conscientious customer is a 7.5% donation from their purchase to help fund Mountain Rescue Ireland. If you are ever unfortunate enough to find yourself in need of their help then I am sure you would like to know that they have enough funds to rescue you!

Thank you for your support.

Kindest Regards,

Eoin Reilly
